Welcome to the Minnesota Stormwater Manual wiki website. The wiki format provides several useful features to users of this manual. While navigating the website should be intuitive, here are a few tips.

  • The Minnesota Stormwater Manual was first published in 2005 and updated in 2008. It was produced in .pdf format. It was converted into the current wiki format in 2013. The wiki technology allows for easy updates of the manual. This capability, combined with funding for updates and new content, resulted in significant changes to the manual. When the original manual was migrated into the wiki format, we largely remained true to the old Manual content. Thus, although many sections of the manual have been updated and new sections created, several sections from the original manual remain. Some of these sections are dated. At the bottom of every page in the manual you can see when the page was last updated. You may also view the changes that have been made by clicking Page information in the Navigation box on the left of each page.
  • Unlike many wiki websites, such as Wikipedia, this wiki does not allow for user collaboration. The reason is that much of the information in the wiki relates to regulatory requirements in permits. We encourage comments and suggested edits.
  • We have developed guidance on how to use this website and the Manual. For long-time manual users we have a section called Quick guide that links content from the old Manual to its location in the wiki.
  • Some sites are under construction or under review. In addition, there are alert boxes scattered throughout the wiki. We hope these will be useful.

The easiest way to become familiar with the manual and the wiki format is to dig in and move around within the wiki. Click on images. Use the links. Utilize the left toolbar. And let us know what you think.
