Current events

• January 2-4, 2018. Northern Green Expo at the Minneapolis Convention Center, presented by the Minnesota Nursery and Landscape Association. There will be several stormwater related presentations at this expo. Mike Trojan from the MPCA will present on Connecting stormwater management to the landscape, Fred Rozulmalski from Barr Engineering will present on a 10-15 year old rain garden evaluation, Shahram Missaughi from the University of Minnesota Extension will present on the University of Minnesota's stormwater workshop series and certification and Randy Neprash from Stantec will present on Urban trees as a stormwater management tool. There are also session on no-mow lawns, the Waterworks Park, the CHS field, pollinators and more.
• January 23-25, 2018: Minnesota Erosion Control Association (MECA) Conference and Trade Show at the DoubleTree Park Place in Minneapolis. Five pre-conference workshops on January 23 and dozens of sessions on January 24 and 25. For more information and to register, go to MECA's web site
• We are tentatively planning a webinar in January. The webinar topic will be stormwater management for controlling phosphorus . The webinar would focus on the problem with phosphorus, pond and bioretention export of phosphorus and street sweeping.

• Minimal Impact Design Standards (MIDS) Calculator Webinar: Wednesday, March 15 from 1:30-3:00. The webinar included information on using the new underground infiltration BMP, using the updated harvest and use BMP and using the new impervious surface disconnection BMP. • The third annual funding strategies workshop was held on Monday, February 6, 2017 from 1:00-4:30 at the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, 520 Lafayette Road North in St. Paul. Funding sources from the Board of Water and Soil Resources, Public Facilities Authority and MPCA was discussed, along with successful grant recipients.
