  • MN Stormwater Seminar Series - April 23, 2019, Minneapolis, MN
  • Metro Blooms, a non-profit group that coordinates the Blue Thumb program, is offering three types of workshops at many places and times this spring:
    • Resilient Yard Workshops (2.5 hours)
    • Turf Alternatives Workshops (1.5 hours)
    • Healthy Soils Workshop (1.5 hours)

All workshop attendees receive information about installation cost-share programs and Blue Thumb resources to help get a project in the ground. The cost is $15 per household, though some locations have no fee because of local sponsorship.

  • Minnesota Stormwater Seminar Series: The Minnesota Stormwater Seminar Series brings exemplars of advanced stormwater innovation and knowledge to Minnesota to share what they’ve learned and how they’ve pushed the boundaries in the stormwater arena. The monthly seminar series is dedicated to stormwater and green infrastructure topics with an emphasis on successes and lessons learned from field implementation and applied research and evaluation, specifically for an audience of stormwater practitioners and professionals. Each event includes a presentation, panel discussion and Q&A with participants. Interested individuals can attend in-person at the St. Anthony Falls Lab, in-person at Minnesota Sea Grant at UMD, or participate online.

  • January 23, 2018. Minnesota Erosion Control Association (MECA) pre-conference workshop on improving MS4 compliance – enforcement, education, & program evolution. This training will focus on the good, bad and ugly of enforcing your MS4 permit requirements. We will take a look at tips and examples of regulating site plans and SWPPP designs as well as enforcing site violations and illicit discharges. Includes discussions on how to implement program procedures, including enforcement response procedures. There will be idea sharing and examples for educating internal staff and elected officials. MPCA staff will present on the upcoming permit reissuance and what changes to expect in the future.
