Throughout the production of the Manual, one singular goal was kept in mind – to produce a useful product that helps the everyday user better manage stormwater. Such programs as the NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) Phase I and II program, the TMDL (Total Maximum Daily Load) program, and strong runoff control programs at the local and watershed levels have all contributed to the need for this information to be compiled in a comprehensive, technically sound document.

Acknowledgements

This Manual was initiated by the Minnesota Stormwater Design Team, which evolved into the Minnesota Stormwater Steering Committee (SSC). Manual production was directed by the SSC’s Manual Sub-Committee (MSC). The SSC manual sub-committee continued to provide input until 2011. The Minimal Impact Design Standards (MIDS) work group provided input between 2010 and 2012. The MIDS work group and SSC completed their work between 2012 and 2013. In 2012 and 2013, the manual was converted to the current electronic format. A listing of contributors and participants appears in the Acknowledgements section.

Updates to technical content have occurred periodically since conversion to the electronic format. Contributors to these updates include external stakeholders, contractor staff, and MPCA staff. Acknowledgements are found in those sections of the manual where updates have occurred.

In addition to these organized efforts at creating and updating the manual, we have received contributions from people too numerous to count. We thank all individuals that have contributed to this manual.
