image illustrating wiki vs html tables
Two types of tables are found in the wiki. Mediawiki coded tables (top) are static and do not link to other pages. Html coded pages (bottom) exist on their own page and can be linked and transcluded to other pages.

The Minnesota Stormwater Manual wiki contains two types of tables. The first are tables created using Mediawiki coding. These tables are static and embedded within a single page. The second type of table is created using html coding. These tables are active and exist on their own page. They can therefore be linked and transcluded to other pages in the wiki, meaning that when these table are updated, every place in the wiki where the table is transcluded also is updated. There are more than 500 of these second type of table. This category therefore contains a large number of subcategories, each containing links to tables in the wiki.
