Timelines shown below are approximate. We update this page infrequently.

Updates to the bioretention section

Work on this section has been on-going for several months. It is largely completed and available for review, but minor changes are anticipated as the final review proceeds. See What's New for recent updates to the Manual.

Stormwater credits and modeling

(Summer, 2014) Updates include the following:

TMDLs

(Summer. 2014) The following new information will incorporated into the Manual.

MIDS

(June, 2014). The following sections will be inluded and updated.

Creation of a section on trees (urban forestry)

(May, 2014). Work on this section (see Trees) has been on-going for the past few months. Several pages have already been added, but the following information will be added in the near future:

  • design specifications for tree quality and tree planting;
  • construction design specifications for tree stormwater BMPs;
  • guidelines for construction activities adjacent to existing trees;
  • maintenance guidelines for trees;
  • monitoring guidelines for tree BMPs; and
  • a fact sheet summarizing the applicability of urban forestry to stormwater management and use of trees as urban stormwater BMP;

Updates for stormwater infiltration topics

(Spring/Summer 2014) A new section on stormwater infiltration will be added to the Manual and will include the following.

  • basic concepts related to the infiltration of stormwater
  • Best Management Practices that can be used for stormwater infiltration
  • select monitoring studies that investigated groundwater quality impacts associated with stormwater infiltration
  • a discussion of area-wide or regional groundwater quality or quantity impacts associated with stormwater infiltration
  • stormwater pretreatment considerations for protecting shallow groundwater quality
  • groundwater mounding considerations for infiltrated stormwater
  • groundwater separation distances for infiltrated stormwater
  • updates on stormwater infiltration constraints
  • considerations for stormwater infiltration in Wellhead Protection Areas
  • considerations and options for stormwater infiltration in areas with contaminated soils or contaminated groundwater
