The MPCA is in the process of reissuing the MS4 General Permit. At this time, the MPCA anticipates the MS4 General Permit to be reissued in Fall 2019. Although the current MS4 General Permit expired on July 31, 2018, those covered under the current permit will continue to operate under it until the MPCA reissues the new permit. The new permit is subject to the NPDES Stormwater Final MS4 General Permit Remand Rule, which emphasizes permit requirements to be “clear, specific, and measurable.”

The draft MS4 General Permit is available for public comment from November 12, 2019 through January 11, 2020. Please visit the MPCA public notices webpage for a copy of the draft permit. Additional resources to assist interested parties are available here.
