Pollutant removal, also called pollutant removal credit, refers to the pollutant reduction achieved toward meeting a runoff water quality goal. An example of a water quality goal is meeting TMDL pollutant reduction requirements. Pollutant removal credits can be achieved either by an individual BMP or cumulatively with multiple BMPs.
